Min-Data was originally a concept to provide users with a simple and free resource for PC help and advice. Originally founded by Mats, Min-Data went through several different designs, the initial ones made by Mats and some friends in ASP with Renegade providing some content.

However, due to problems with some of Mats friends and their site designs, Mats had to go it alone, and found it increasingly difficult. Renegade and Ciber were able to provide him with PHP coding help, and the site progressed to have a couple of working versions. Due to the language barrier, Mats had a lack of content for the site, even if Renegade and Ciber provided some, Mats would then have to translate it into Norwegian for use.

The Norwegian site went through several designs, but Mats decided it was not worth his time to do the maintenance on the site, so made a simple design and promotes himself to do PC maintenance in the Oslo area, which he enjoys and pays more than the free site! It can be visited at http://www.min-data.no [min-data.no]

Sometime when Mats was having a little trouble with a lack of content for his site, Ciber proposed MDUK, a similar project of the same name for UK based visitors. Again the site would offer free computer help and advice with a few tutorials. However this site, although completed and equipped with a few guides failed to appeal to people.

And that brings MDUK to today, where after a complete refit it is being developed as a free and currently advert free (if too many people use MDUK, we may be forced to have adverts, but we will do our best to avoid that) resource for bloggers. Anyone can create a blog with us, features are improving all the time, thanks to Ciber’s coding. We do now have limited and relevant advertising, through the "Currently Reading" feature, which is done in association with Amazon. The only reason we have this is as a feature, not as advertising.

We intend to bring MDUK to greater public attention, to offer better and more useful features than other blog sites, to deliver as much of what the users want as possible, and to stay integrated. We believe that if we can offer such an integrated package it may be preferred over existing blog sites, but only time will tell!
